First meeting thoughts
August 8, 2010 in News
Even though there aren’t many of us in this group yet, we should perhaps go ahead and plan a first meeting. Group member Jeremy and I have emailed back and forth a little bit about the idea, but I thought I would make a post on the topic so other members – and potential members – can get in on the act as well.
One of the reasons to have a first meeting is so that BlenderNation will announce our existence, which in turn will help us grow our membership. Other than that, what would we want to accomplish at our first meeting? Jeremy has mentioned the notion of a group project. What sort of project would people be interested in? And what do we need for this first meeting? Computers? Just ourselves?
Where and when could we have this meeting? I’d be glad to have the meeting at my place in the Green Hills area of Nashville, but I’m open to other locations. Given that our turnout will likely be small, I think we should go with a free location though. As to when, I’m available weekday evenings after 6 or 7, depending on the specific day. I could also meet on Saturdays after about 1 pm and at pretty much any time on Sundays.
Of course, if it ends up being only me and Jeremy, I suppose we could just meet at Wendy’s or something.
Any thoughts?
